Round table "Form of a salvage agreement in the Russian Federation: the need and what it should be"

On September 30, 2021, at 14:00, the conference "Form of the salvage contract in the Russian Federation: the need, and what it should be" was held in the format of a round table in the conference hall of the ANMSU Far Eastern Maritime Training Center.

The conference set as its goal the preservation and promotion of domestic traditions and good maritime practice in the conclusion and execution of contracts during rescue operations in the Far Eastern Federal District, and strengthening the legal position of arbitration courts in resolving disputes related to rescue operations.

Representatives of shipping and fishing companies, high officials of the rescue units of the Far Eastern region, representatives of the administrations of the seaports of the Far East, the Pacific Fleet, transport prosecutor's office, and universities took part in the conference.

The following reports were presented at the conference: “System for responding to natural disasters and emergencies and eliminating the consequences of accidents at sea in the Russian Federation” (Nikolai Pirozhkov, Head of the Marine Rescue Coordination Center); “Compliance of the draft pro forma of the salvage agreement with the requirements of the 1989 international salvage convention” (Vitaly Gorbunov, Head of the Department of Maritime Law, ANMSU); "Compliance of the content of the draft form of the salvage agreement with the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation" (Nikolay Cheptsov, Arbitrator of the Maritime Arbitration Commission at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation) and some more.

The discussion of the reports was also held in the videoconferencing regime with the Admiral S.O. Makarov State University of the Sea and River Fleet.
