Would-be ship engineers completed their shipboard training period

74 cadets of the ship mechanical department of the ANMSU Maritime Engineering College and 42 cadets of the ANMSU Sakhalin Branch completed their practical training period on board the training ship Professor Khlyustin. They mastered the initial professional skills from April to June 1. The cadets felt what rolling, seasickness, and work at sea is like. From April 29 to May 11, the vessel followed the route Vladivostok - La Perouse Strait - Aniva Bay – Vladivostok having passed 2654 miles. Daily classes included the subjects: general arrangement of the ship, elements of the ship framing; ship damage control procedures; ship systems and mechanisms; main and auxiliary engines; the engine room operation, documentation; ecological safety and environmental protection during the operation of ship machines and mechanisms. Every day, four cadets kept watch in the engine room and at the gangway (bridge), and reported to the officer in charge of practical training. A meeting of the attestation commission was held, where the practical skills of the trainees were tested. The results were recognized as meeting the requirements of the qualification characteristics of the chosen profession. On May 7, a traditional ritual of initiation of cadets of the Maritime Engineering College and the Sakhalin Branch of ANMSU into sailors took place with the issuance of a personal certificate. Sports competitions were held in bench press, arm wrestling, checkers, chess, dominoes, backgammon, on the uneven bars and the crossbar. The cadets prepared an amateur performance concert for the crew of the ship Professor Khlyustin, which took place on May 25. Within the framework of career guidance and a report on the progress of the practical training, an account Professor Khlyustin was opened on Instagram.
