Aquarobotech-2020. Eastern Breeze ended in the Amur Bay

The first stage of the Marine Robotics Competition in Aquarobotech - 2020. Eastern Breeze ended in Vladivostok. 19 teams of developers and representatives of law enforcement agencies from Vladivostok to Sevastopol participated in the research and practical conference. The organizer was the Advanced Research Foundation with the support of the Board of the Military-Industrial Commission of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Defense of Russia, the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia, the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Russian Guard, the Admiral G. I. Nevelskoy Maritime State University, and the Far Eastern Federal University. JSC "United Shipbuilding Corporation" (USC) became the general partner of the event. For three days, participants in the Marine Robotics Competition fought hard with each other and with the vagaries of the seaside weather. Unmanned vehicles demonstrated by the teams turned out to be capable of working in difficult conditions. Compared to last year, the skill of the participants has grown significantly, as well as their "offspring" have become more serious. The Competition Aquarobotech - 2020. Eastern Breeze in Vladivostok was remembered for the fact that it was incredibly difficult to identify the best. For example, it was even decided to award the first two places in the class of remotely controlled unmanned vehicles (ROV), so the teams performed all tasks precisely and accurately, showing almost equal results. The competitors were literally separated by seconds, and the results were similar in terms of efficiency and time shown. Among the tasks that the teams performed were inspection of pipelines and cable lines, inspection of boom defense, inspection of underwater parts of ships, performance of underwater technical work, inspection of the bottom surface of the water area, and search for objects. The Center for Technical Creativity of Youth Technosphere from Korsakov (Sakhalin region) with an unmanned boat TANGA-380 received a cup and medals for its development. This is a remotely controlled autonomous surface hydrographic apparatus, which was created for the study of water areas. The team was invited to work with the fleet, improve their apparatus and use it to perform real tasks. The Marlin-350 telecontrolled vehicle, which was represented by a team from Sevastopol, is designed to search for underwater objects, perform inspection and survey work under water in coastal sea or inland waters at a depth of 350 meters. The device works even under ice. Student teams will compete in the second stage of Aquarobotech - 2020, it will be held at the G.I. Nevelskoy MSU in September. Next year, the competition in marine robotics will also be held in the Primorsky Territory. The organizers promise to choose a more complex and interesting site - with a large perimeter and a difference in depth.
