March 15, the G.I. Nevelskoy MSU hospitably hosted students of grades 9, 10 and 11 from Vladivostok and the Primorsky Territory on the traditional Open Day. Despite the snowfall, a lot of high school students with their parents (about 1000 people) visited the Maritime University. Guys from Khabarovsk, Artem, Ussuriysk, Nakhodka and other cities, villages and towns, whole classes led by school principals and head teachers from Slavyanka, Dalnerechensk and Sergeevka arrived for the Open Day. Future applicants got acquainted with the deans of faculties and the heads of departments of the Maritime University. The children were handed booklets, talked about specialties, about the rules and conditions of admission to the University. Many future applicants communicated with cadets of the Navigation, Ship Engineering and Electric Engineering Faculties, who told them about their studies, practical training on ships at sea, about the possibility of receiving an additional military specialty as a lieutenant or sailor (reserve) at the Military Training Center, and doing sports at the University , especially water sports - rowing, sailing, swimming. As always, the Faculty of Physics and Technology and the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology enjoyed the increased attention of the University guests. School students aimed at obtaining an engineering education, listened to information about the development of underwater robotics at the Maritime University, presented by graduate of the Faculty of Physics and Technology, head of the robotics laboratory of the scientific and innovative complex Marine Technopark Dmitry Proshchenko with great interest. Schoolchildren and their parents watched a concert that was prepared by employees of the Youth Center.
