On the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day, veterans of the G.I. Nevelskoy MSU, together with a representative of the Council of Veterans of the Frunze District of Vladivostok, visited Schools No. 42 and No. 39. Students of School No. 42 prepared a wonderful dramatization with verses on military-patriotic themes to meet with the veterans. Vladimir Kononov told the schoolchildren about the history of the holiday and about the Maritime University in terms of career guidance. Oleg Matveev, Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Maritime University, a member of the Union of Writers of Russia, read his poems on military subjects, Professor Leonid Lysenko spoke about long-distance sailing trips. Former head of construction organizations of the city, previously working at a Maritime University, and now deputy chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Frunze District, Damir Kantakuzen, shared with the schoolchildren memories of his participation in the construction of buildings in Vladivostok. Students of Secondary School No. 39 also prepared art numbers for a meeting with the veterans. The children sang songs and recited verses on a military theme. Cadets of the G.I. Nevelskoy MSU Andrei Anishchenko, Roman Malkov and SVF Kirill Novotorzhin accompanied the veterans. They talked fascinatingly about themselves and the Maritime University.
